NICEIC is the UK electrical contracting industry's independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations Schemes, products and support to electrical contractors and many other trades within the construction industry. The Association of Interior Specialists represents the whole spectrum of those involved in the manufacture, supply and installation of all aspects of interior fit-outs and refurbishment.
AIS membership is not automatic and applicants are subject to strict vetting procedures. In the case of contractors, this includes inspection of recent contracts to assess workmanship standards.
The main criteria for membership is that companies should:
AIS Contractors Award - Value Band over £250,000. Bbi submitted their
fit out for EADS Defence Systems at Newport South Wales, to this prestigious
award scheme.
The scheme which had a value of £1,000,000 was adjudged "Highly Commended" against some very stiff competition.

Bbi submitted their fit out for CODA plc Headquarters in Harrogate, to
this prestigious award scheme. Competition was fierce but Bbi's contract
went on to win the Gold Award in the 2007 AIS Contractors awards presented
at the Dorchester Hotel in London.

Since its formation in 1993, the BIFM has remained one of the fastest growing
professional bodies in the UK and the largest national FM organisation in
the world. BIFM welcomed its 12,000th member in 2007 and continues to grow
at a steady rate.
BIFM recognises facilities management as a dynamic and strategic management discipline and is committed to the development of FM as a career of choice. We support all members as they progress throughout their careers, from those who are joining the profession to facilities managers with years of valuable experience.
The BIFM Qualification is an important benchmark, at degree level, which recognises professional practise in FM, assessing both knowledge and experience. Successful candidates receive a final Qualification certificate and the post-nominals BIFM (Qual).
Constructionline is the UK's largest register of local and national
pre-qualified construction and construction-related services.
Set up in 1998, Constructionline is designed to streamline procurement procedures, reducing supplier and client costs and wasted time and effort at the pre-qualification stage, rendering the construction industry more efficient and effective.
To qualify for membership companies must comply with requirements appropriate to public and private sector procurement and as agreed with the Department of Trade and Industry.

SAFEcontractor accreditation has been achieved following an assessment of Bbi's health & safety documentation, and compared against the SAFEcontractor Charter Standards, which set out the health and safety standards required to achieve accreditation.

The Institution was founded in 1945 and is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that sets professional standards, supports and develops members and provides authoritative advice and guidance on health and safety issues. IOSH is formally recognised by the ILO as an international non-governmental organisation.
It
is a legal requirement for any business running a vehicle of over 3.5
tonnes to obtain an operators license. This license is issued by VOSA
(Vehicle & Operator Services Agency)
who are a government body set up to police operators in the UK. VOSA
is the merger of the Vehicle Inspectorate (VI) and the Traffic Area Network
(TAN) division of the Department for Transport (DfT). The aim of the
agency is to contribute to the improvement of the road safety and environmental
standards, and to the reduction of vehicle crime.
The FTA (Freight Transport Association) on the other hand is an association which offers assistance to operators so that they may become more compliant with the requirements of VOSA. FTA empowers members through training to ensure knowledge of compliance issues, standards and requirements. They also provide auditing services to assess drivers' hours and vehicle maintenance processes to ensure compliance to the operator licence regulations.
This
is to certify that Huw Morgan has been awarded OCR Level 3 Certificate
of Professional Competence in National Road Haulage Operations in accordance
with The Goods Vehicles (Licensing of Operations) Act 1995, having achieved
the qualification in December 2004, and is qualified to work in a professional
capacity in an undertaking responsible for road haulage - engaging soley
in National Transport.
Established
in 1994 the Mid
Wales Manufacturing Group is a limited company owned by
the members and operates on a 'not for profit' basis.
The Group aims to inform its members about current legislation and best practice in running a manufacturing business. In cases where a member is seen to be performing particularly well in this respect the group will highlight this fact and qualify the member to act as a mentor.

From the Environmental Protection Act 1990 waste includes any substance
which constitutes a scrap material, an effluent or other unwanted surplus
arising from the application of any process or any substance or article
which requires to be disposed of which has been broken, worn out, contaminated
or otherwise spoiled; this is supplemented with anything which is discarded
otherwise dealt with as if it were waste shall be presumed to be waste unless
the contrary is proved.
The purpose of UK Waste Legislation is to control the keeping, transport and treatment, deposit and disposal of waste. It controls all sections of the waste management industry including storage, registration, licensing, monitoring and record keeping.
