BBI Group achieves top safety award

BBI, and its sister company PJE, have recently been awarded accreditation from SAFEcontractor, a programme which recognises very high standards of health and safety practise.

Under the SAFEcontractor system, businesses undergo a vetting process, which examines health and safety procedures and their track record for safe practice.

SAFEcontractor is operated by the National Britannia Group, one of the UK's largest independent safety, health and environmental risk management specialists, employing over 450 people within its UK operations.

Those companies, meeting the very high standard, are included on a database, which is accessible to registered users via a website: www.safecontractor.com.

Commenting on this latest award, Laura Reed, Group Compliance Officer for BBI, stated: "Major organisations can no longer run the risk of employing contractors who are not able to prove that they have sound health and safety policies".

James Ostler, Managing Director of Information Services at National Britannia added: "More companies need to understand the importance of adopting good risk management in the way that BBI and PJE have done. The BBI group's high standard has set an example, which will hopefully be followed by other companies within the sector".

SAFEcontractor accreditation is expected to enhance the company's ability to win new contracts and is a key element of the group's high level marketing objective to differentiate itself within the marketplace.
