Bbi board members pass IOSH exam with flying coloursBeacons Business Interiors (Bbi), the facilities support specialist, has announced that its entire board of directors have successfully completed the Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) 'Safety for Senior Executives' course. Six candidates successfully took part in the course, delivered by Santia, which aims to equip senior executives with an in-depth understanding of the role of health and safety in the construction industry. Throughout the day candidates were required to demonstrate their knowledge and capabilities in both practical and theoretical examinations. The course sought to inform board members of their legal responsibilities in terms of health and safety and how to put effective strategies in place. Areas also covered included how to minimise risk in the workplace, the consequences of failing to manage health and safety effectively, and the principles of continual improvement and annual reporting. Jeff Lee, compliance officer for Bbi, said: "I am really pleased that all of our board members have taken part in this course and have passed with flying colours! It is a challenging course that requires knowledge of a multitude of different areas relating to health and safety. Andy Graham, group chairman of Bbi, explained: "I am very proud to be able to say that all our board members have successfully completed the course. The completion of this training is a great achievement and clearly demonstrates Bbi's ongoing commitment to health and safety management. "By encouraging and facilitating good practices and expertise, we aim to promote awareness of health and safety matters in the workplace and ensure that high standards are achieved, and maintained." |
