Lloyds TSB Asset Management, St. William HouseBbi has worked on countless projects with Lloyds TSB Asset Management and Lloyds TSB Autolease over the past ten years. Initially engaged to supply only furniture, we have since played an integral part in providing solutions to changes within LTSB, including re-locations and the general development of the Finance Centres.
This specific project was to move 1,200 people from the old headquarters in Newport Road, Cardiff, to the new Lloyds TSB Asset Management headquarters, across the city, in St William House. Bbi worked closely with Lloyds TSB Architect's department in developing the interior design for the project as well as the space planning of the building and designing and supplying:
The move itself was unusual in that all staff had previously occupied small wings of a fourteen-story building with a maximum occupancy of only around twenty-five personnel. The new offices were to comprise three large open plan floors of up to 400 people per floor, with the central spine of the building housing the atrium, breakout areas and centralised services. Generous communal areas were planned as a 'pay-off' for the move from a more intimate environment onto a much larger floor plate and Bbi were involved in this Change Management process at all stages.
Bbi implemented a system of 'Move Buddies' - a representative from each department within the business was selected to represent and inform their department of all matters relating to their impending re-location, keeping communication as easy and open as possible during the removal period. Bbi were also required to demount and relocate 900 workstations without any disruption to core business activities, as well as supplying approximately 300 new workstations. These moves were undertaken without incident. Bbi's IT department also planned and implemented the move of all computer and telephone equipment from one site to the other, including the positioning and testing of the equipment in its new location.
The result of the headquarters move was to deliver a large open plan layout, with only senior management in glass to glass cellular offices (all located away from the perimeter wall to maximise natural light within the building) with a blend of both new and old workstations, complimented with generous breakout meeting areas.
