Mitel, Madrid

Mitel is a leading provider of enterprise and small business communications solutions and services with operations in over fifty countries.

Bbi has provided office and furniture solutions for Mitel in France, Holland, Germany and on this project in Spain.

The Brief

To create a fresh open plan office environment, incorporating:

a product demonstration room
meeting and training facilities
computer laboratory
new kitchen
reception area

It was identified at an early stage that a complete strip out of the existing partition and floor coverings would be required. Landlord and budgetary restrictions prevented a change of the existing ceiling grid so the design was adapted to make best use of the grid, a mixture of 75mm, 50mm and 24mm grid and a combination of 600x600 and 600x1200 metal perforated ceiling tiles.

Project Delivery

Prior Planning...

Obviously when delivering a project of this nature it is essential for a complete and thorough pre-design survey to be undertaken by the intrepid account manager!

Once the design was approved the logistics of delivery and installation became the priority. All of the elements of the project were loaded onto a 17 tonne lorry which departed for Madrid.

The team then spent nine days completely stripping out the existing partitions and building new glass to glass partition. A new kitchen was installed and new carpet laid.

Flexible Furniture

Chosen for its light appearance and flexibility of application, Farrell's new range of systems furniture, 'Partners' was installed.

The project complete a tired but happy team returned to the UK.
