The client

DTZ is a global leader in property services, with more than 1,390 employees operating across 13 offices in the UK. The design brief To create a new entrance to the building and transform two floors of run down office space into a vibrant open plan area.

Project delivery

Tasked to create a modern and innovative access route into the building, Bbi installed a smart new double glazed door, topped with a striking stainless steel canopy, alongside a contemporary feature wall consisting of vertical hardwood cedar board slats. Large external signage was designed to sit against smooth, natural stone, and was finished with stainless steel edging trim to create a truly high impact design. The team also installed a brand new reception desk, surrounded by illuminated white tiles, to match the exterior design elements. Internally, Bbi installed a new suspended ceiling throughout the first and second floor, with Armstrong Dune Max mineral tiles in a Microlook ceiling grid. Heater casings were also fitted featuring a powder coated steel framework, along with 13mm laminate finished plywood panels and powder coated grilles, for a neat and complete finish. Some one from Bbi said: “Golate House is a striking building and everything about this project had to be high impact. The result is a high quality, clean and contemporary look, that fits in perfectly with the blend of old and new architecture in Cardiff city centre.”
