Dwr Cymru Welsh Water

Ty Awen, 28 West, Celtic Springs, Newport

Project value

£640k | 2 months

The client

Dwr Cymru Welsh Water is the regulated company that provides water supply and sewerage services to over three million people living and working in Wales and some adjoining areas of England.

The design brief

To create a dynamic office environment for 460 employees, with office accommodation to include a meeting suite and small cafe facility. The installation also included a state of the art 3D model projection room and 32kW solar array.

Project delivery

The team at Bbi were given a tight 10 week deadline for this project as it had to be completed before the leases on existing local sites came to an end.

Bbi supplied new furniture to fit out three floors of office space, including bespoke items such as a clean and contemporary reception desk, and benches designed to facilitate collaborative working.

To meet the demand for private meeting space, the team installed 12 cellular meeting rooms and interview suites. In addition to the ground floor café, six tea points were fitted one in each wing of the building.

Gary Burridge of Bbi Group said: ''Having already created a dynamic working environment for Dwr Cymru's main call centre in St Mellons, Cardiff, we were asked to do the same for the new site in Newport to accommodate the Capital delivery teams. Working to a tight deadline we were able to help with the smooth transition of staff to the new building and provide a visually stimulating and effective working environment.''
